Ryland Homes, Burton Crossing’s homebuilder, provided the Homeowners Association with the corresponding cross- over Sherman Williams paint colors, which is a match to the original Norandex/Mid-America shutter colors. This is also the approved list of colors for all shutters and front doors in Burton Crossing. Caution should be used in viewing the color chart above and picking a non-approved color that is “close” without approval from the Architectural Change Committee. For example, looking at Wedgewood Blue and deciding that a teal color, or looking at the Burgundy Red on the approved list and choosing a cherry red that you believe is “close enough” would be a violation and would require you to repaint, if you did not seek or have prior approval for that color before painting.

Did you know Burton Crossing’s Architectural Change Committee “regulates the external design, appearance, use, location and maintenance of lands and improvements thereon...”? All Burton Crossing architectural and style standards guidelines can be found at and include, but are not limited to:

  • Shutter colors
  • Roof shingle material & color
  • Siding style & color
  • Mailbox and post design and color
  • Patios
  • Decks
  • Fences
  • Concrete work of any kind
  • Pergolas and more.

An architectural change request form should be filled out and approved by the committee prior to start of exterior modification or change.
Any shutter color not used by Ryland Homes, Burton Crossing’s home builder, and not listed in the color chart above, should be submitted to the Burton Crossing HOA Architectural Change Committee for approval first and cannot be used without an approved request in hand prior to the start of painting. Just submit a color sample of the color you want to use utilizing the online Architectural Change Request Form. You may also paint your door a different but complimentary and harmonious (approved) color as an accent to the color you select for the shutters.

Faded Shutters

Suggestion #1 -Self-employed painter, Juan Rodriguez, is a homeowner in Burton Crossing. Juan will paint shutters at $10 per shutter, including paint. You can call his wife, Bertha, to schedule your appointment for painting. Bertha’s number is (317)748-3196. Should you, the homeowner, wish to hire Juan, you should do your due diligence to make sure he is qualified in every way you think important. Do not rely on the HOA to pre-screen the painter. Ask questions about his experience and insurance if that is important to you. In the event you wish to consider this homeowner painter, the HOA has arranged with Juan to provide the following paint colors, at no additional charge to you:

• Tricorn Black

• Bramble Bush (Brown)

• Wine Country (Dark Red)

• Jasper (Dark Green)

• Rainstorm (Dark Blue)

If you want a color that hasn't been arranged by the HOA, you will need to pay Juan for your paint. Juan can also paint the exterior side of your front door for $30.00. If you wish to utilize Juan’s services, please call his wife, Bertha Rodriguez, at (317)748-3196.
